"Empower Excellence: Support BASSE" 2024

A fundraiser for Bryan Allen Stevenson School Of Excellence

$2,675 raised from 9 donors

$10,000 goal

The Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence (BASSE) launched its inaugural year on September 3, 2024! With over 200 students from across Sussex County, our school is off to an inspiring start, and we couldn’t have reached this milestone without the support of people like you.

BASSE is housed in the former Howard T. Ennis school building on
the Delaware Technical and Community College campus in Georgetown. We serve
6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, offering a unique educational experience that
combines academic excellence with community engagement.

In our first year, we’ve already created a vibrant school
culture—students have enjoyed school dances, field trips, and even a visit from
First Lady Tracy Quillen. Our upcoming art show in December is just one example
of how our students are thriving. However, we’ve encountered some unexpected
costs as we work to provide the best possible experience for our students.
That’s where we need your help.

We are reaching out today to ask for your support in our BASSE School Launch Fundraising Campaign. Your donation will directly impact our students
by helping us provide:

·
Educational materials and field
trips that enrich learning
·
Physical education equipment to encourage active, healthy lifestyles
·
Art supplies to inspire creativity and
self-expression
·
Community projects, such as a school garden,
that build connections with the environment
·
Upgrades to our school space to ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment

Your generosity will help us continue to build a school that
nurtures not only the academic growth of our students but also their social,
emotional, and physical development.

About Bryan Allen Stevenson School Of Excellence

Mission: The Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence (BASSE) INC. is an emerging public charter secondary school in Sussex County, Delaware. Its mission: To create pathways, through proximity, for our students, their families, and our community.

"We cannot create justice without getting close to places where injustices prevail. We have to get proximate.”
– Bryan Allen Stevenson

Basse was founded on the life philosophy of Bryan Allen Stevenson, a native Delawarean, renowned lawyer, and social justice advocate, who frequently talks about the power of proximity as being essential in his journey.

BASSE will be a free public service-learning high school in Sussex County opening with grades sixth and seventh, with a strong focus on academic rigor and social justice. Our deep belief is in our children and that they are our future; therefore they require deep investments in their learning both in the classroom and outside of the classroom.

BASSE will provide a rigorous, interdisciplinary curriculum to support students in using their gained skills and knowledge to complete service projects in the community. Through collaborations with local community organizations, nonprofits, and service organizations, students will become proximate with the community's needs and develop novel solutions.

BASSE aims to develop the capacity for leadership in the youth of Sussex County through the passion of learning, the joy of providing service, and the power of proximity.
