For the Love of OperaDelaware-Sarah Asmar

I’m Sarah Asmar.

I’m fundraising for OperaDelaware.

I had the privilege of singing with OperaDelaware in 2016's Amleto and it was an experience that reminded me why I chose to pursue opera as a profession. Today, I want to give back to OD by participating in Do More 24 Delaware and I'm asking all of you to help me! I am proud to work as Development Associate for this company striving to inspire, excite, and thrill audiences with creative and vibrant performances. Your contribution today will make an even larger impact as it helps to unlock significant matching funds for OperaDelaware. On this unique day of giving, we have a unique opportunity to make a difference together.

About OperaDelaware

Mission: OperaDelaware's mission is to open the door to bold, vibrant and creative operatic programming that enriches the community, transforms audiences, and encourages dialogue.

For over 77 years, OperaDelaware has produced world-class operatic programming that enriches the community, transforms audiences, and encourages dialogue -- right here in the First State.

Music has the power to change lives, create empathy, and connect people of all backgrounds. By making a donation, you are supporting "First Rate Opera in the First State!" We are deeply committed to serving the city and state in which we perform by offering inspiring and creative main stage productions in The Grand Opera House while also bringing top-tier performances outside the walls of the theater and into the Delaware community at large. Our engagement and education programs bring the magic of live opera into communities where access to the arts is limited. Your donation supports initiatives like Pop-Up Opera (traveling concerts that bring world-class talent to perform at healthcare facilities, community centers, neighborhood associations, and community service organizations on our cherry red opera cart), our Hometown Heroes program which provides free tickets to frontline workers, educators, and non-profit partners and the Neighborhood Choir initiative, a collaboration with the Wilmington Children’s Chorus, which provides music education for Delaware children who otherwise would not have the opportunity to be included in the arts.

Thank you for your support! Together, we can keep opera and the arts vibrant and accessible in Delaware.
