$10,000 goal

FOCHSP members are active and enthusiastic, however neither of those attributes pay for playgrounds or bus rides for schoolchildren or much of anything else. In recent years, we have raised funds for significant improvements such as the installation and operation of the Osprey Camera, purchasing an ATV type  vehicle for use by the Park's maintenance department,  funding the construction of a new pavilion at the primitive campground , purchasing  beach wheelchairs and additional   mobility mats to aid handicapped access to the beaches.

We hope you will consider helping us help to keep Cape Henlopen State Park a fun place for all.

About Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park

Mission: The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park (FOCHSP) is an independent non-profit volunteer organization that works with park staff to maintain and enhance Cape Henlopen State Park.

Your donated dollars are greatly appreciated and allow us to continue to support our various park programs. This includes:
·       Our Borrow a Bike program which allows visitors to borrow a bike for free and tour our beautiful park.
·       The Thatcher Fund and YES grants provide funding to bring Title One school children and youth groups to Cape Henlopen Park  and experience nature and take part in the educational programs provided by the park’s Nature Center.
·       FOCHSP have also funded the purchase of beach access mats for dune crossings, beach accessible wheel chairs, renovation of the Park’s Disc Golf course, construction of the new Primitive Youth camp pavilion, water fountains and restrooms .
·       The FOCHSP paid for the construction and maintenance of the playground in Cape Henlopen State Park.
·       The FOCHSP helped secured grant monies for the refurbishment of the boardwalk/walkway at the McBride Bathhouse.
. Future plans include funding for improvements such as shade structures at the picnic area and eco-friendly groundcover for the children’s playground. Additionally, the installation of a Monarch Butterfly feeding station near the Biden Center is planned, featuring the Monarch’s favorite native Delaware plants.
