2024 has been a year of unimaginable challenges—exhaustion, heartbreak, and loss. It's been difficult to find the strength to keep going, but we’ve done our best.
Despite everything, Grass Roots Rescue has saved 545 dogs so far this year and found homes for 530.
Each one with their own unique story. Some of the cases this year have left a lasting impact on us are:
🩵 The 96 dogs rescued thus far from GARD. They endured neglect and abuse at the hands of the “rescue” that was supposed to help them.
We’re working hard with our southern partners to get the remaining 50 dogs to safety, with the hope of giving them the second chance they deserve.
🩷 35 of the dogs pulled from Brandywine, came to us due to special circumstances, including legal cases and severe medical issues. Because of GRR, these dogs all got/are getting the opportunity to find their happily ever afters.
💜 The overwhelming number of medical challenges we’ve faced this year—parvo outbreaks, surgeries, and respiratory illnesses that shut down our state. There were times we wondered how we’d keep going, but thanks to our amazing fosters, volunteers, and the support of people like you, we’ve been able to push through and continue to fight for those that truly need us.
Grass Roots Rescue gets no state or federal funding, and we don’t qualify for most grants. We rely 100% on the generosity of our supporters.
This Giving Tuesday, we ask you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us continue our lifesaving work. Every gift, big or small, makes a difference and is appreciated more than you could ever know!!
