I’m Mary-Elaine Perry.
I’m fundraising for Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence (DAASV).
I currently serve as President of the Board of DAASV. The work that DAASV does is not direct service to victims and survivors, but we advocate to prevent sexual violence and support victims and survivors, we support and provide training for those working in the field and offer awareness raising for the public. While we have grant support for our work, we need unrestricted funding to advance our ultimate goal to eliminate all forms of sexual violence in Delaware. Your contribution will help immensely. About Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence (DAASV)
Mission: The mission of the Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence is to address Sexual Violence in Delaware by creating an inclusive community that supports survivors through advocacy, sexual violence prevention, intervention, and awareness. Some of our guiding principles include: Being inclusive, trusted, accessible, and engaged in the Delaware Community. Working to create a culture in the state where several of the root causes of sexual violence are deemed unacceptable. To create a culture where survivors of sexual assault/violence feel safe to self-identify and come forward seeking desired support, and that may include legal remedies to the violence that has been perpetrated against them. The importance of keeping the voices of survivors of sexual assault at the center of our work.
Our Engaging Men and Young Boys Initiative, launched in April 2024, encourages male-identified people to challenge the man-box culture that has allowed the ongoing epidemic of violence against women and girls to persist throughout human history. While historically, women have been at the forefront of addressing sexual violence prevention; men must be active in the solution to addressing sexual violence and assault.

Advocacy and Awareness - The Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence advocacy aims to influence decisions with political, economic, and social institutions. Our desired goal is to create and advance actionable policy recommendations, protocols, and best practices that increase awareness of sexual violence and assault and advocate for the best interests of victims and survivors of sexual violence.
