Your support makes a difference!

With the support of our donors, we are able to offer programs that close the achievement gap for minority and low income youth, deliver potentially life-saving swim lessons, prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes, help families in need of childcare, and offer programs like LiveStrong that helps cancer survivors.

Our donors enable us to serve those in our community who need us the most through targeted programming and our Financial
Assistance program, which enables low income families to attend the YMCA.

About YMCA of Delaware

Mission: The YMCA of Delaware’s mission is to empower youth, foster healthy living, and promote strong communities. Our vision is a healthy, inclusive community where all people reach their full potential.

Established in 1889, the YMCA of Delaware serves more than 120,000 individuals annually at 7 full-facility locations, one urban youth development center, two outdoor recreation complexes, one overnight resident camp, and at over 40 statewide school partnership sites. We believe that we are stronger when our doors are open to all, allowing everyone the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

For over 130 years, our YMCA has worked to empower youth, foster healthy living and promote strong communities. Our work prevents chronic diseases like diabetes, combats educational equity by serving more than 30,000 young people, and enables all Delawareans access to life-changing programs. In 2023, we served 121,000 youth and adults across the state and provided over $4.2 million in financial support to ensure everyone had access to critical YMCA services.
