About Reading Assist
Mission: Reading Assist provides intensive services for young, at-risk children with the most significant reading challenges so that they achieve reading progress and proficiency.
This year, Reading Assist is providing high-dosage tutoring to more than 1,700 struggling readers!
Reading Assist works in partnership with schools to identify and serve children in grades K-3 who are in the lowest 25% for reading proficiency.

We recruit, train, and embed AmeriCorps members, known as Reading Assist Fellows, to provide our accredited, high-dosage tutoring program to students during the school day. We provide additional support to students through summer and after-school programs.
Your support will help us purchase much-needed items for our program:
- $25 can purchase 4 white boards for student lessons
- $50 covers the cost of grapheme sound decks for 20 tutors
- $100 will purchase student workbooks for 10 students
- $250 can buy one iPad for a tutor to conduct weekly reading assessments
