Lisa V's Reading Assist Fundraiser for Fellow Supplies

A fundraiser for 2024 Giving Tuesday Fellow Fundraiser (Reading Assist)

$10 raised from 1 donor

I’m Lisa Voicheck.

I’m fundraising for 2024 Giving Tuesday Fellow Fundraiser (Reading Assist).

I’m so excited to share that I’m participating in Reading Assist’s 2024 Giving Tuesday Fellow Fundraiser! Reading Assist is the nonprofit organization I’m serving with this year through AmeriCorps. It provides reading instruction and intervention services for young, at-risk children with the most significant reading challenges in high-needs schools across Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC.

This year, I, along with other Reading Assist tutors, am working to raise $10,000 towards the organization’s overall goal of raising $35,000 in honor of their 35th year of supporting young struggling readers throughout the region.

By contributing to our $10,000 goal, you’ll help ensure that countless children have the opportunity to develop a lifelong love of reading.

While Giving Tuesday is officially on December 3rd, we are kicking off our fundraiser on November 19th to give us the best chance at achieving our goal. I know that with help from community members like you, we can make a difference, and together, we all win!

Please use my fundraiser link [insert link] to donate no later than December 3rd at midnight and help me qualify to win a donut and coffee party for the staff at my school and some other exciting prizes!

Thank you in advance for your support!

About Reading Assist

Mission: Reading Assist provides intensive services for young, at-risk children with the most significant reading challenges so that they achieve reading progress and proficiency.

This year, Reading Assist is providing high-dosage tutoring to more than 1,700 struggling readers!

Reading Assist works in partnership with schools to identify and serve children in grades K-3 who are in the lowest 25% for reading proficiency.

We recruit, train, and embed AmeriCorps members, known as Reading Assist Fellows, to provide our accredited, high-dosage tutoring program to students during the school day. We provide additional support to students through summer and after-school programs.

Your support will help us purchase much-needed items for our program:

  • $25 can purchase 4 white boards for student lessons
  • $50 covers the cost of grapheme sound decks for 20 tutors
  • $100 will purchase student workbooks for 10 students
  • $250 can buy one iPad for a tutor to conduct weekly reading assessments
