For the past three years so many of you have helped to make my dance hopes and dreams come true by donating in small and large ways with your contributions to Wilmington Ballet through DO More 24 DE. DO MORE 24 DE is a twenty-four hour giving campaign that helps to raise funds for non-profit organizations like Wilmington Ballet Academy of the Dance. As Wilmington Ballet has grown, I have also grown in my dance repertoire including contemporary, jazz, modern, African, Chinese Water Sleeves and of course Ballet. Through your generous support, I hope to grow even more and develop a well rounded dance education through my training with Wilmington Ballet.
I have been really blessed by the connections that WB has made with other studios and guest artists. For the past two Nutcracker seasons, our shows have featured a variety of professional and pre-professional dancers from across the globe including dancers from Alvin Ailey and Dance Theater of Harlem. Last summer and this summer I was offered an opportunity to participate in a challenging week-long boot camp with the Philadelphia Ballet. I also was able to participate in WB’s Summer Intensive program where we were taught by principal dancers from Ailey, New York City Ballet and Broadway. In a few weeks, I will be dancing in a production with the Collage Dance Collective at Swarthmore University called RISE. All of these experiences came as a result of the diverse global reach of Wilmington Ballet, your generosity and your belief in me.
I hope to continue working towards my goals and aspirations every time I step into the studio. I appreciate everything that Wilmington Ballet has done for me through my ten years dancing there and hope to keep dancing. I can't do that without your continued support, however. I appreciate any contribution no matter how small to DO MORE 24 this year. Please donate to WB using the link to my page by 6 PM tomorrow, March 3rd. Remember that this giving campaign is only 24 hours so donate today!
