On Saturday March 18, the Delaware Racial Justice Collaborative will host its second Black Student Summit. The event is designed to amplify voices in Black Student Unions, Black-serving student groups and their allies across school systems in Delaware. Ashley Christopher, Esq, founder of HBCU Week, is the keynote speaker.

The daylong annual event aims to bring all interested students, administrators, advisers and allies out to St. Georges Technical High School to “prepare, train, re-fuel and uplift” students and their support systems. From performances to workshops, spoken word and a soul food lunch — the DRJC team hopes to strike a tone that keeps students engaged and discussing all things activism, leadership and organization.  Transportation is available from Georgetown, Milford, Newark and Wilmington.

Last year, we served just over 100 students and roughly 170 in total. This total included BSU advisors, teachers, school and district administrators and senior education officials. This year's event will be even bigger and better.

Please donate to help make all of this possible at no cost to participants!

About United Way of Delaware (UWDE)

Mission: At United Way of Delaware, we're answering the call to help our community thrive. We're working to ensure kids can read on grade level by third grade, support career and college success for youth, connect families to vital resources through Delaware 211, and empower individuals with the tools they need to achieve financial stability. It’s about creating lasting change that lifts up everyone, not just offering temporary fixes.

When you give to United Way of Delaware you are helping children and families. Whether it's a kindergartner who lacks the resources to learn remotely, or a family calling 2-1-1 seeking immediate shelter, United Way of Delaware has initiatives in the community that make an impact in the lives of real people.
