STEVE'S FUNDRAISER FOR SOUTHERN DELAWARE ORCHESTRA

A fundraiser for SODELO (Southern Delaware Orchestra)

$1,450 raised from 12 donors

$5,000 goal

I’m STEPHEN GREIFER.

I’m fundraising for SODELO (Southern Delaware Orchestra).

As many of my friends and family know, I am President and Co-Founder of the Southern Delaware Orchestra.

SODELO is a community of more than forty string musicians where musicians learn, play,
and perform classical music.  With our free concerts, SODELO serves the Southern Delaware
community by bringing string orchestra music to music lovers across the region.

The orchestra was formed when my search for people to play string quartets with revealed a huge gap in classical music and string playing opportunities and education in my new home in Southern Delaware.

To continue our efforts, we need your donations to help pay for venue and rehearsal space, purchase music, reimbursement of expenses for our music director and soloists, for advertising, and to maintain and develop our website and social media.

This Fundraiser is part of the annual DoMore24 Delaware program, supporting not for profit efforts across the state.  The digital event is on March 2 - 3 from 6PM to 6PM.  The more contributors in that time frame, the more matching funds are available to us.  Simple as that.

More information to follow!   Please support us!

Best,

Steve

About SODELO (Southern Delaware Orchestra)

Mission: SODELO is a full symphony orchestra and community of over 71 musicians from Southern Delaware providing a welcoming environment where we can learn, play, and perform orchestral music for the community to enhance the richness of the cultural environment. Our musicians include medical professionals, teachers, high school students, attorneys, pastors, and retirees. We are excited to share our music with our neighbors!

The Southern Delaware Orchestra (SODELO) has been recognized as a bright new musical voice in Southern Delaware, and we need your help to do even more for the community in the coming year.

We held our first rehearsal in May of 2022 and grew from a string ensemble of 32 players to a full orchestra of 71 musicians, with winds, brass, and percussion, in just nineteen months.
We are so proud to continue to grow in numbers and musicianship, making music and building friendships within the orchestra and in the community. From Wilmington’s Grand Opera House to Epworth UMC in Rehoboth to Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, we play sold-out concerts for enthusiastic audiences who respond with standing ovations and "Encore" requests.

For 2025, we have plans to play more than five concerts in locations across Sussex County and to reach into the community with fun and educational programs. We want to DO MORE for you and we need your help and support.

We want to spread the love for orchestral music across Sussex County.  Please help make sure that we can bring you much more music in the future!
